Kahlua

From the Kitchen of Michael Murphy

 

4 cups sugar

3 cups of very strong fresh coffee

(2 ounces high grade, freeze dried coffee and 3 cups hot water may be substituted for fresh coffee)

1 fifth of Vodka

1 ½ vanilla beans

3 bottles

 

Dissolve sugar into hot coffee

Cool

Add Vodka

Put ½ vanilla bean into each bottle

Pour 1/3 liquid into each bottle. Cover bottles

Allow to stand for 4 weeks, remove vanilla bean and re-bottle if desired.
