NANA COOKIES

˝ cup shortening (Crisco)
˝ cup brown sugar
˝ cup white sugar
1 beaten egg
1 tablespoon water
˝ teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup of sifted flour
˝ teaspoon salt
˝ teaspoon baking soda
1˝ cups Quaker oats
1 six ounce package of chocolate chips
Mix all together and find and old woman with
arthritis to stir until it gets too painful to stir any more. Drop ˝ teaspoon
amounts onto a cookie sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350°. There is some
debate as to Quaker Quick Oats or the old fashioned "You have to cook 'em" kind. Hey they’re Nana Cookies! Use the raw oats
like she did.
