MARTINI

From the Kitchen of Michael Murphy

 

Traditional Martini (2 to 1)

1 ½ oz Dry Gin

¾ oz Dry Vermouth

1 green olive with pimento (the red thing in the middle of it)

 

Gently stir Gin and Vermouth with ice and strain into a Martini glass. Add olive.

NEVER SHAKE A MARTINI!

It bruises the gin.

 

Dry Martini (5 to 1)

1 2/3 oz Dry Gin

1/3 oz Dry Vermouth

1 green olive with pimento (the red thing in the middle of it)

 

Gently stir Gin and Vermouth with ice and strain into a Martini glass. Add olive.

NEVER SHAKE A MARTINI!

It bruises the gin.

 

Extra Dry Martini (8 to 1)

2 oz Dry Gin

¼ oz Dry Vermouth

1 green olive with pimento (the red thing in the middle of it)

 

Gently stir Gin and Vermouth with ice and strain into a Martini glass. Add olive.

NEVER SHAKE A MARTINI!

It bruises the gin.

 

Extra, Extra Dry Martini (8 to .0001)

2 oz Dry Gin

1/8 oz Dry Vermouth

1 green olive with pimento (the red thing in the middle of it)

 

Gently stir Gin with ice and strain into a Martini glass. Add olive.

Hold Vermouth over Martini glass for 7 seconds allowing the Vermouth vapors to drift into the Martini.

NEVER SHAKE A MARTINI!

It bruises the gin.

 

Extra, Extra, Extra Dry Martini (8 to .0000000000000001)

2 oz Dry Gin

A compass

1 green olive with pimento (the red thing in the middle of it)

 

Gently stir Gin with ice and strain into a Martini glass. Add olive.

Hold the Martini glass up in the air in the direction of France for 7 seconds allowing the Vermouth vapors from France to drift into the Martini.

NEVER SHAKE A MARTINI!
